Happy Birthday Brandon(Daddy)

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful Husband and Father in the world.
We celebrated Brandon's Birthday tonight. Jack did not understand that it wasn't still his Birthday. Poor Brandon will have to deal with this the rest of his life. I talked to him all day about how it was Daddy's Birthday, but he kept looking at me and saying "no, Jack's Birthday". He tried to undwrap Brandon's gifts abou 4 times and even got into one of the cards. As soon as Brandon pulled into the driveway Jack started screaming and was ready to run out the front door. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. He met Brandon at the car yelling "Happy Birthday Daddy", but when Brandon said "thank you buddy", Jack pointed at him and said "no, Jack's Birthday". He didn't even eat dinner because he was so excited about the birthday cake. As you can see from the picture above he had to blow out the candles for Daddy and we had to do it twice.
Happy Birthday Brandon! We love you!!

Our Little Fisherman

This past weekend we took a trip to Montegut, La. to Doug's camp for a fun-filled weekend. We celebrated Brandon's Birthday, relaxed, and did alot of fishing.
Jack and I didn't make the morning fishing trips. We did take Jack out one afternoon for a couple of hour to see if he would enjoy the fishing. That was all that he had talked about the week leading up to the trip, so we thought we would take him out and give it a try. He was not sure about the boat ride out, but as soon as we stopped and started fishing he was great. He wanted to help everyone do everything. Doug or Brandon would catch fish and let him help them reel it in. He loved it. As you can see in the pictures below, he was a little unsure but really excited.
It took him a few fish but he finally got brave enough to give his fish a kiss, (yes we washed his mouth after). He's still a little young but next year he should be able to go on most of the trips and stay out for longer than an hour or so.

2 Year Check Up

Jack had his 2 year check up yesterday and did great! The doctor was very impressed with how much he is talking. I told him I wasn't sure if I was that impressed!!!

Here are his stats:
Height: 35"
Weight: 26 lbs. 5 oz.

He is starting to get taller but thin out. He only had to get 2 shots and did great. He started to wimper when she stuck him but then noticed the band aids and that was is only concern. He started saying "Jack have sticker".

Jack Turns 2

It is so hard to believe that Jack is 2. It seems like just yesterday we were getting settled after bringing him home from the hospital. It has been the best 2 years of our lives!

Since we had a big celebration last year we did a small get together at our house this year. It was really nice and very low key. My Dad, Kim, Maw Maw, Paw Paw, and cousin Gordie were able to come in for the party to celebrate with Jack.

This year was alot of fun because he knew what was going on and was really into everything. He played in the bouncie for a while and as soon as he finished eating he came in and said "momma eat cake, Jack cake". Poor thing, we had to hold him off for a little while because everyone was still eating but the time finally came. As soon as he had some cake he said "momma Jack presents, open presents". That was fun. I'm sure it was like Christmas to him.

Thursday was his real birthday along with Sena's so we had a birthday celebration that night. My Mom and Doug were able to come in for that and we had a great time. Poor Sena didn't get much attention because Jack was not excited about sharing his birthday with her. We made up for that at the lake this past weekend though.
He got some great gifts, like this picnic table, membership to the zoo, guitar, t-ball, pajamas, work bench, train table, lawn mower, blower, etc.

After almost a full week of celebrating he still doesn't understand why there isn't a present waiting for him every day when he wakes and up and before he goes to bed.

Quick Visit

Last Friday night Antoine and Erica stayed with us for the night on their way to Tennesse for the Fourth of July. It was great seeing them. Brandon's Mom (Mimi) was sweet enough to keep Jack for the night so that we could have an adults night out. I wish that we lived much closer so that we could hang out with them all of the time.
